- waiting on the first round of beta reads for Ain’t No Angel since I got through the first round of major revisions over the weekend
- doing some beta reading of my own, and also trying to finish drafting Balancing Act.
- Those couple of scenes in Trouble Makers still need to be finished/written, too, to make that draft complete.
I’m doing first round revisions on Ain’t No Angel (that’s the third title I’ve had for this book, and the official title, since there’s a teaser for it at the back of the print version of Nerdgasm), which is due out later this year — I’ll know a more solid date on that later, when I get a better feel for how the process of editing and making it shiny is going. Just to give you an idea, I normally write romance. Ain’t No Angel is not a romance. It’s an urban fantasy that establishes the character of Cam — you’ve met him. He’s the bartender at the Hearth and Forge. But he’s not human. He’s a demon of destruction created just after the universe. Since it’s in the prologue, I don’t feel bad telling you that Cam’s not supposed to have a soul, buuuuuuuut… he has one, anyway. In his lifetime, it’s kind of a new thing.
Hot on the heels of the last challenge, @mreauow & @Making_Pots and I set up a whole new challenge.
The challenge: You’ve been stood up, people are staring and talking, they’re trying to kick you out if your date doesn’t show soon. Some random person shows up, and says, “Just go with it,” and holy shit, you had a great time!
Then we hashed out the details.
- Due April 30
- 1500 words
- 2nd person POV
- There must be a twist
- From only one person’s perspective
Let me tell you about the problems I had with this one.
